Curious about how our urgent care offers veterans a "no wait" option? Discover more!

Beginning June 6th 2019, U.S. Veterans no longer have to wait to get care for minor medical conditions. Under the new Veterans Affairs Department’s Mission Act, LCMC Urgent Care clinics will now be able to treat veterans on a walk-in basis. No appointment is ever necessary.

Minor medical conditions include (but are not limited to): flu-like symptoms, strep throat, minor burns, pink eye, ear/skin infections, x-rays, lab testing and medications.

A veteran himself, LCMC Urgent Care Medical Director, Dr. Patrick Dennis says, “It’s an honor to serve those who’ve bravely served this country.” He goes on to say, “I look forward to being able to offer vets quick, easy, and convenient access to quality medical care.”

Veterans can now arrive at any LCMC Urgent Care location and simply let the clinic know they would like to use their VA Urgent Care benefits. The clinic will then confirm Veteran eligibility before providing care. Before the new law took effect, the VA would pay for private care only when veterans
had to drive more than 40 miles or wait more than 30 days for a VA appointment.
