Hector Cabrera, MD, MPH
Dr. Cabrera was born in Guatemala, but grew up in Marrero, Louisiana. He studied Russian and Psychology at Tulane University, and then went on to earn his Medical degree at Tulane School of Medicine. While there he also earned a Masters in Public Health in Tropical Medicine and International Health. He completed his training in Family Medicine at the University of New Mexico, and then served his obligation with the National Health Services Corp at an inner city community clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He returned home to practice in the New Orleans in 2000 as a Family and Urgent Care doctor, and now serves as Medical Director for LCMC Health Urgent Care Westbank clinics. Dr Cabrera is board certified in Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He is fluent in Spanish, and has special interest in Sports Medicine, Geriatrics, and International Health.
